Declaring Victory Before We See It.
I’m a dreamer. I like to see things before they happen and go into a situation with an end goal in mind. I like to have an idea of what the outcome will be and do what I can to get there. But like I said, I’m a dreamer more than I’m a doer. I’m an ‘easier said than done’ type of girl. I could talk for days about all of the possible ways my life could look and all of the possible routes I would take to get there, but when it comes to action I find myself stuck in fear of the unknown. I know things will shift but maybe the outcome won’t be the way I want it to.Then I take a step back. I re-focus my vision on the One who not only created everything we see and know, but is also constantly focused on me. He’s not only the author but He’s also the deliverer. Nothing I walk through is a surprise to Him because He has never stopped walking with me. Whether I choose to see that or not doesn’t change the reality of His investment in my life. He is relentlessly interceding for me (Romans 8:34) and fighting for me (Exodus 14:14).And He has won! I always find myself going into my circumstances wondering how they will turn out. Then He so graciously reminds me that He has won. Every time. With out a doubt. And He will win again. So why do I go in to the battle expecting anything else? He has called me to walk in the promise and the promise is that He works all things together for my good (Romans 8:28).So I can declare victory before I see it. When it’s too stormy to even see my own hand in front of my face, I can be at peace. I can walk forward, confidently and joyfully. I can laugh at the days to come (Proverbs 31:25). I can find my identity in victory because He reigns.words by Kirsten Larsen and photo by Ivy Hansen
