For Those Who Feel Stuck.
Life can get chaotic. You are overwhelmed, you are stressed, and you are tired. It is easy to get caught up in these virulent feelings, to the point where you forget to ask yourself “When was the last time I felt truly happy?” You keep yourself up at night because you feel like you are capable of so much more. You’re struggling with something that no one will ever understand, and you just feel stuck. The situation you are in is not an easy one, and the foul mood you put yourself in because of it will not help you. I will not tell you to become optimistic and try to find the positive in a difficult situation. However, it is important to take a step back, breathe, and think it through. Come up with every possible solution, good or bad, plausible or not. Give yourself credit, you are enduring something, big or small, it is an accomplishment. Remind yourself that you are doing the best you can, and that is all that you can ask from yourself. Accept yourself unconditionally, for trying. Remember that if you make a mistake, or something doesn't go your way it is important to forgive yourself. Hurting yourself over an outcome can leave you entrenched in a feeling of guilt, and it will only hold you back. It’s okay to make mistakes, because you are human. Accepting your faults is the next step forward, you are doing the best you can and you deserve to credit yourself. Take your time in understanding why things happened the way they did. Take those catastrophic instances and figure out how you will grow from that. You are always growing. It is inevitable that we find ourselves in dissatisfying situations. The way we move forward with it is entirely up to us. Suffering is just a habitual occurrence that is followed promptly by healing. So give yourself the liberation of letting go and drop the weight that you continue to carry on your back. You are not stuck, you just need to be reminded of your purpose, and its time to start moving.“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” (Romans 8:18)“He heard my prayers and brought me out of the pit of misery, He set my feet upon a rock and directed my steps.” (Psalm 40:2)“She is clothed in strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future.” (Proverbs 31:25)words and photo by Sam Szostak
