Write It Everywhere.
I’m overwhelmed. I have a lot on my plate. Simultaneously, I don’t. So sometimes, I feel invalid being stressed out. I feel as though I am not doing enough. I am not contributing enough to the world to be worthy of a spot.Wow, it’s uncomfortable being that vulnerable. But, a friend invited me to her school’s chapel, and of course, because God is who He is, it really hit me. The speaker told us of a phrase a man told him. “When you come to the table, you are enough.”Straight away. Without cause. Without reason, we are enough. We are pursued. We are wanted. No thing, or lack of, has the ability to change that.What. How.How does that make sense? How am I supposed to be able to understand that? In a world where my value is seen by what school I go to, what my job is, how many friends I have, how much money I have, what car I’m driving, how many social media followers I have, what clothes I wear, what I look like, it is so tough to imagine that to someone, none of that matters, and I’m still loved and enough. So, how do we do it? How do we live our lives like God’s opinion of us is the only thing that matters when we still have family members and friends that are human and experience emotions, like disappointment?I wish I had an answer for you. I really do.The only suggestion I have, is to be the light for others, and even for yourself. To let other people know that they’re doing and being enough when they need it. And to do the same for yourself. Write it on everything. Write it on your hand. Write it on your school papers, your work papers, your instagram bio, tweet it. However many times you need to see it to be able to remind yourself throughout the day that no matter what grade you got on that test, no matter what others think of you, whether you got the job or not, you are enough and He is pleased with you exactly how you are. You are loved, needed, wanted, pursued, and so much more than enough.words by Ashley Jesus and photo by Ivy Hansen
